Conducted RF Immunity Testing

MSASPL provides conducted RF immunity testing for electronic products that may be affected by radio frequency disturbances coupled through power lines, signal lines or communication cables.

This test is useful for products used in industrial, EV, medical, telecom, IoT and commercial environments where cables can act as paths for RF interference.

What is Conducted RF Immunity Testing?

Conducted RF immunity testing evaluates whether a product can continue operating normally when RF disturbances are coupled into connected cables.

Frequently Asked Questions

Conducted RF immunity testing evaluates whether a product continues to operate correctly when radio-frequency disturbances are coupled onto its connected cables and ports.
IEC 61000-4-6 is the commonly referenced basic immunity standard for conducted RF disturbances. The test frequency range, level and modulation are taken from the applicable product requirement.
The RF signal is injected through a suitable coupling/decoupling network or other specified coupling device selected for the cable and port under test.
Possible symptoms include communication errors, unstable sensor readings, false switching, control malfunction, display disturbance, resets or degraded performance at particular frequencies.
The observed failure frequency and affected cable can help narrow the investigation. Typical areas include cable shielding, common-mode filtering, grounding, connector termination, PCB return paths and sensitive analogue or communication circuits.
